Quick answer

Pediatric care at Careprime Clinic means primary care for children and teens, from sick visits to school physicals, at the same family clinic where parents get their own care. We are a family medicine practice, not a pediatric specialty office, so we treat common childhood illnesses and minor injuries and let you know when a specialist is the better next step.

Is this visit right for your child?

What Parents Tell Us When They Call

A sick visit is the right choice when your child has a new illness or minor injury that is not an emergency. If something feels off and you can’t tell how serious it is, call us and describe what you’re seeing.

  • “My son has had a fever since last night”
  • “She says her throat hurts and won’t eat”
  • “He needs a sports physical before tryouts on Monday”
  • “My daughter keeps pulling at her ear”
  • “The school nurse sent him home with a cough”
  • “She twisted her ankle at soccer and it’s swollen”
  • “He wheezes every time he catches a cold”
  • “We just need a flu shot for both kids”

Signs that often come with common childhood illnesses

  • Fever or chills
  • Sore or scratchy throat
  • Ear pain or fussiness at night
  • Cough or runny nose
  • Less appetite or energy than usual
  • Rash or itchy eyes

Keep track of when symptoms started and any temperatures you took. That short note helps us a lot during the visit.

Know the difference

Well-Child Visit vs. Sick Visit

Both happen in the same exam room, but they have different goals. Knowing which one you need makes booking easier.

Where to go

Clinic, Video Visit or ER?

Most childhood illnesses can be handled at our Rosharon clinic or over video. A few signs mean you should skip both and get emergency care.

Diagnosis

How We Check Kids in Rosharon

Many common tests for children can be done during the same visit at our clinic. A negative test doesn’t rule out every cause, so we always look at the whole picture.

Your Child’s Visit, Step by Step

  1. Check-in. Walk in or book ahead by phone or online. Bring your insurance card and any school or sports forms.
  2. Health history. We ask when symptoms started, what medicines you’ve given and about allergies or past illnesses.
  3. Exam. A gentle, kid-friendly exam of ears, throat, lungs and anything else related to the problem.
  4. Quick tests if needed. Strep, flu or urine tests can often be run during the same visit.
  5. Plan for home. You leave with clear care steps, signs to watch for and guidance on returning to school or sports.

Treatment

Pediatric Care and Treatment in Rosharon

Treatment depends on what we find. A strep infection gets a prescription, while most colds and many fevers need rest, fluids and a watchful eye at home. We explain the difference so you know what to expect over the next few days.

Kids with ongoing issues like asthma or allergies get a plan they can follow at school and at home, with follow-up visits in person or by video. The same clinic can see siblings and parents, which makes family scheduling simpler.

  • Sick visits for fever, sore throat, colds and ear pain
  • In-house strep and flu tests
  • Nebulizer treatment for breathing flare-ups
  • Flu shots for everyone 6 months and older
  • School and sports physicals
  • Telemedicine follow-ups
